    Hi,
Is there a way in the new version of Iolite to plot a square slit in CellSpace?
(sorry if I’ve missed this somewhere in the help files/ forum).
    Thanks,
    Rachel

    Hi Rachel,

when creating a CellSpace image, iolite uses the information provided in the log file to automatically detect if a square slit or spot was used.
So, there’s no need to change any settings before creating an image if a square slit has been used.

    Hi Tephy,
I should have mentioned that I need to convert the log file from our program to one suitable for Iolite. What code would I need to use to denote a square (I guess in the ‘spot type’ column)?
    Thanks,
    Rachel

    Hi Rachel,

Just change the spot size column to have an x and y value, so if you had a slit with an x width of 100 µm and a y width of 20 µm, the spot size should read “100 x 20”. Iolite looks for the [number] x [number] format when reading the log file and determines from that that you’re using a rectangular spot shape.

    I hope that helps.

    Cheers,
    Bence
